The 2008 statututory amendment changing vocational rehabilitation for workers' compensation in Washington became effective on January 1, 2008. Interim Policy 6.45 implementing the vocational changes became effective on June 10, 2008.

The amendments to the regulations of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) became effective on January 16, 2009.

The ADA Amndments Act (Americans with Disabilities Act) was signed into law on September 25, 2008 and is effective January 1, 2009.
